The "fast life" and I go way back, it's actually one of my first hobbies, cars being the ultimate factor of fascination. It's a hobby that I truly love, we had a community and group that I used to be an active member of, but the past 5 years or so haven't been as fast; life has changed, things have changed, and so have the streets of Dhaka.
Cars nowadays are impractical for these city streets, I wouldn't even mind if they put some kind of ban on cars and different means of public transport. Making bicycles an option would be a lot better to be honest. It would really benefit our daily commute, our health, the environment, and also help in saving us a ton of time and money too.
Don't get me wrong now, it's not like my love is dying, as if I'm falling out of love for the fast life and pretty cars; I just like to be efficient, practical, and cars just aren't practical for our city streets right now.
Yet, I still try to attend these events every now and then. Whenever I have the time I attend these events, just to feel what I used to, once upon a time. Also, getting the chance to meetup with some of my old "car-buddies" most of whom are just crazy car guys.
All in all, I can't disregard this hobby and community, probably never will.
So, here's a glimpse of the Underground Car scene of Dhaka city.

It really did feel good when I was there, met a lot of my buddies, saw some new cars and missed a few too. This is less than 5% of the cars that were present there, and way less of what Dhaka has in its arsenal. A lot of the cars left earlier, and a few were impossible to click pictures of because of the crowd; it's a shame, I know, but at least we still have some dope clicks.
After attending this event I realized that the car scene is still going strong. Back when I used to be an active member the number of attendants were much lower, less than half of what it is now. Of course, that is a good thing, but again, this city already has too many cars. Then there's also the absurd 400% tax on imported cars. So, for now I'd rather rely on my legs and hang around in different means of public transport.
But, when things are better(hopefully things will get better) when the time is right, I will be back.
Till then. ADIOS!!!
