She's done fantastic keeping these winter chicks alive too!
This has been a completely thrilling journey. After a chicken went broody on a few gourds, Pinkie-Pepper gave her a few fertilized eggs which she hatched... in mid-January. Since then, we have got had lots of freezing temperatures or even more than one snow storms.
Today she changed into out and approximately together along with her brood as soon as again. They percent across the yard, or even discover the patches of ice and snow left over from the storms. When they get too cold, they may run again beneathneath their mama chicken to heat again up. In those photos, which I took in advance today, one chick determined to peek out from beneathneath the mama chicken. The 4 different chicks have been hidden below her heat, fluffy feathers. Enjoy the photos.
