To be clear. I take photos of the waves. The surf. Sometimes people get in the shots. I love when they do. I'm focusing on the waves. The surf. The people are almost always not in focus. That's ok with me. They aren't posing. It's random and candid. Sometimes they do get in the spot of focus. People shots, street shots are something I really like. It's not a comfortable or easy thing to do. There's other things to consider as well. One of them is the change in peoples viewpoints about cameras and... I don't know how to describe it. It "feels" like people are much more suspicious about camera's now. Maybe that's not accurate. It might just be that an old guy by himself in a safari hat with a big lens and camera is naturally a suspicious person. Yeah. That's probably it. Anyway. Days when the surf is good I can shoot surf and also get a few shots with people in them.
