Sometimes the best gear-related moments happen after the purchase is already over.
Nineteen days after buying my dream lens, an unexpected package arrived β and it turned out Sony had a small surprise waiting for me.
Hello friends!
If you remember, 19 days ago I finally bought a lens I had been dreaming about for a long time.
You can read about that moment here:
It was the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II, one of the flagship lenses from the famous Sony G Master lineup.
When I unpacked the lens box, I noticed something interesting β there was a QR code for a Sony promotion.
Out of curiosity I scanned it, registered⦠and then simply forgot about it.
Days passed.
Honestly, I didn't expect anything to happen.
And then one day a package suddenly arrived.
At that moment I immediately understood β
Sony had not forgotten about me π
π¦ The Package
Letβs take a look at what was inside.
Even the outer box already looks quite premium, and when I picked it up I was surprised by the weight. For such a small package it felt surprisingly solid.
That alone already made the unboxing a bit exciting.
Sony clearly wanted this to feel like a special gift rather than just a promotional item.
π Welcome Kit from Sony
Inside the box was a G Master Welcome Kit β a small set of accessories designed specifically for photographers.
The kit included:
- a memory card case
- microfiber cleaning cloths
- lens label stickers
- G Master patches
- metal pins
None of these things are essential of course, but they are thoughtful little tools photographers can actually use.
And honestly β photographers love small gear-related things like this.
π· Lens Label Stickers
One of the interesting items in the kit is a sheet of lens label stickers.
They include names of different Sony lenses like:
- FE 16-35
- FE 70-200
- FE 50
- FE 28-135
Photographers often place these stickers on lens caps, storage boxes or camera bags to quickly identify their gear.
A simple but clever idea, especially when you carry multiple lenses in your bag.
π G Master Patches
Another fun detail β G Master patches with phrases like:
- No Missed Moments
- No Limits
- Confidence in Every Mission
These can be attached to a camera backpack, jacket, or gear pouch.
A small thing, but it adds a bit of personality to your equipment.
π€ A Small Mystery
There were also two large pieces of fabric β black on one side and orange on the other.
Iβm still not completely sure what they are designed for.
One side sticks to the other almost like Velcro, so my guess is that they are meant to wrap lenses or accessories for protection inside a camera bag.
If someone knows their exact purpose β feel free to tell me in the comments π
β Limited Gift
From what I understand, this G Master Welcome Kit is limited to only 900 pieces, and Sony definitely doesnβt give them away to everyone.
So receiving one felt like a nice unexpected bonus after buying the lens.
π· A Nice Touch from Sony
Of course, the real star of the story is still the Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II, which Iβm already enjoying using a lot.
But small details like this show that a company really pays attention to its customers and photographers.
So let this post be a small thank-you to Sony for that thoughtful gesture.
Sometimes itβs the little surprises that make the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Thank you for your likes, your comments, and your time. It never goes unnoticed.
I write my texts myself, correct mistakes and translate via ChatGPT (which is not a violation on Hive)! All photos were taken by me personally - I am a beginner photographer, so I ask professionals not to judge strictly.
Thank you for sharing these moments with me! Until new stories and new holidays! βοΈ.
