More March snow fell on the area this week. I stopped by a local Mississippi River backchannel called the Black River. There is a strong community of boathouses on this stretch of water. Boathouses are common in the area of North America, especially along the Mississippi River. If you drive up and down the Mississippi Valley, you will see stretches of these boat homes at various places.
As time moves on, these will all be removed as families pass away. There has been a concerted effort to remove boathouses from the shoreline in order to restore the waterways in the area. So, like many things else in life, these images too will fade away to time.
