MINARET OF MIR MASOOM SHAH
It was a long time since I visited any historical place in my city Sukkur. Today I decided to visit a place which is popular in the region and it dates back to the 16th century! yes, you heard it right this Minaret was built in the year 1607 and it is still intact with its original work.
A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE MINARET
Mir Masoom Shah was a lieutenant in the army of Mughal Emporer Akbar. He was one of the brave general who fought many battles and which when was died the Emporer ordered to build the Minaret in the memory of his beloved army person. It was built in a small city of Pakistan named Sukkur. At that time it was the longest minaret in the city and as it was built on a small mountainous area we can still take a look around the city.
