A few days ago, I invited a friend over to take some photos of him and get a little practice in. At some point, I changed the camera settings, and instead of setting it to RAW (which I always use because of the flexibility this file type offers), I accidentally set it to JPG. I ended up shooting the whole session that way. I did notice the photos lacked some sharpness, but I didn’t suspect that was the reason. It wasn’t until I transferred them to my computer that I realized what had happened. Luckily, they were already pretty close to what I wanted, so I didn’t have to edit them much.
Now I know I need to pay attention to one more thing: not assuming all the settings are correct.
