Durga Puja is a major festival of Hinduism traditionally held for 10 days in the bengali calender month of ashshin(september-october) . the festival mainly celebrated in Bengal Assam and eastern state of India but recent time all over in India.
the season of the goddessd devipaksh begins with the inaugural day of Mahalaya . It is a long celebration of 10 days end with Dussehra or vijayadashmi.
Durga Puja is a festival of happiness celebrations of culture event and of course worshipping the Nari Shakti Devi Durga. the festival celebrate the victory of Devi Durga over Mahishasura the good over the Evil. Devi Durga symbolise Nari Shakti as she killed Mahishasura The Evil who was a threat to God's that's why devi durga is also called mahishasura mardini. Devi Durga define as Devi mother and daughter who desent from heavenly home to her parents home on earth along with her four childrens Ganesh Karthik Lakshmi and Saraswati.
But the preparation for the arrival of this godness Durga started several month ago.the Potter's collect the clay from the ganges river and start the walk of making the idol of the Goddess. beautiful architectural bamboo scaffold made for temporary house for God in Street and Park. All this structural made of bamboo are locally call pandal.Different type of materials are used is all these bamboo scafold which look more beautiful and attract everyone. all the pandels in Kolkata become the centre of attraction for the people of the world during Puja. These pandals of Puja have architectural and sculpture as well as social messages.
Recently UNESCO has recognised the festival as a global event is not just rejoice event. It is like a carnival food music dance a lot of rejoying .
after a week long celebration the idol of the Goddess is immersed in water. With the farewell comes another year of waiting all this wonderful moment of Pooja become a memorable moment with our outgoing life.
