Intro

On the way to the witch tree, which I had already visited last year, I almost stumbled upon a gruesome sacrificial site in the forest of my home.

Auf dem Weg zum Hexenbaum, den ich letztes Jahr schon einmal besucht hatte stolperte ich fast über eine schaurige Opferstelle im Wald meiner Heimat.

From a distance I noticed the unusual colors of the tree stump.

Von weitem fielen mir die ungewöhnlichen Farben des Baumstumpfes auf.

Seen up close, it turned out to be feathers.

Von der Nähe betrachtet stellte es sich als Federn da.

Here a bird of prey has eaten a bird and only left the feathers behind.

Hier hat ein Greifvogel einen Vogel verspeist und nur die Federn zurückgelassen.

I can only guess that it could have been a pigeon.

Ich kann nur vermuten dass es sich um eine Taube gehandelt haben könnte.

Soon the forest will lie over the place and there will be no more traces to be found.

Bald schon wird sich der Wald über die Stelle legen und keine Spuren mehr zu entdecken sein.

Witch tree / Hexenbaum

What is astonishing at this place in the forest is the circular open area around the tree, there will certainly be one or the other dance here during the full moon.

Erstaunlich an diesem Platz im Wald ist die kreisrunde freie Fläche um den Baum, zu Vollmond wird es hier sicherlich den einen oder anderen Tanz geben.
