It's been an incredible spring/summer for the lupine wildflowers around the Tahoe area. I've shot quite of new photos but I decided to take a break a couple days ago and do some fishing with Quill dog at nearby Stampede Reservoir.
I went out to a fairly flat area, so Quill could really stretch his legs and get some run time in. To my surprise, there was more lupine where I went! It's everywhere this year. I usually have my camera with me, just in case. Glad I did because I got another "keeper" photo. Unfortunately, we caught no "keeper" fish. Or any fish at all... But it was still a great afternoon.
Shot with a Canon 5DS R and a 24-105mm lens set at 70mm. It was a bit windy out so I didn't bother with a tripod, it was a handheld shot, no lens filters. The shutter speed was 1/200, the ISO was 200, and the lens aperture was f/14.
I tried to take some photos of Quill in the lupine but he wasn't being very cooperative...
Yup...
Here's where we were fishing for a bit. I knew it wasn't the best spot but the tasty Kokanee Salmon sometimes hang out in this area. I just had to cast my line very far out (fishing pole is on the left). But nope, nothing. It probably didn't help that Quill kept insisting on swimming and splashing in the water.
Well, at least Quill cooperated with the obligatory selfie.
Thanks for looking and I hope you are all having a great day!
