Hail to the Hive!
It's not all peaches and cream and rosey but living a nomadic existence does have its perks and splendid scenery is definitely a big big perk.
We have decided to spend a good chunk of winter in the area of leamington Spa & Warwick and just outside. Nipping in and out as necessary.
When I say 'nip' I use the term loosely as moving at 3mph means it's not a quick thing.
We moved the boat the other day to empty the toilet and fill up with fresh water and took note along the way of likely places we can tie up and this was where we decided to stop. It's only 2 locks and about 30 mins to get back to water and waste disposal and 90 mins back into leamington spa for groceries and it's bloody lovely!
So in a few days we will go and do the water and waste run and return here again and then on Friday we will head to the city to be ready to rendezvous with friends as we are having some cool stuff done on Badger the Narrowboats's interior. Can't wait.
Mother nature gave us a lovely day with amazing skies to enjoy while I tidied up Badgers roof and checked on a few things in the engine room. All while enjoying coffee, pastries and splendid surroundings.
And the skies were magnificent today!
Imagine having this entire area to yourself for a few days. Isn't that worth the inconvenience of living space and not having unlimited water and waste disposal? I think it is and it's a massive part of the reason we live like this.
