Good evening all friends of #Photography-Lovers, how are you all, of course I hope everyone is healthy and happy.
I found a tree planthopper, namely leptocentrus taurus, yes, as the name implies, its habitat is in small trees, with the size of a fly, this insect is agile enough to fly here and there, but luckily it started to calm down a bit when I took the photo.
Leptocentrus taurus or commonly called stem planthopper has the characteristics of having 3 thorn-like horns, namely the protrusion (protrusion) of the thorax, leading to the right and left and one to the back of the body. The presence of this tree planthopper is usually in bushes, on green manure, fruit trees and shade.
Leptocentrus taurus has a very unique relationship with ants. They will lay their eggs on trees that have ant colonies. When the eggs hatch into larvae, the ants become their protectors. The larvae secrete a fluid that is harvested by the ant colony for their own use.
Well now I show you some angles of this leafhopper photo, I hope you like it, leave a comment and share your experience, maybe you often find this leafhopper.
