A Visit to the Museum of Illusions
It was last year when we didn't know where to go for the weekend, and it was a beautiful, sunny day outside. Our older son remembered that we could go to Split, a city 100 km from home, and visit the Museum of Illusions.
Since he was the only one who had been there before, and none of us had, we immediately agreed, got dressed, and within 5 minutes we were all in the car, ready to go.
When we were on our way to the museum, we passed by the statue of Saint Duje, near which everyone stops and rubs his thumb because it is believed to bring good luck and to bless couples who cannot have children with the ability to conceive. So, for good luck, we also rubbed Saint Duje's thumb, because you can never have too much luck.
When we arrived at the museum, it was like being in another universe. From the very entrance, with the music playing in the background, everything felt mysterious.
We immediately started exploring, but everyone wanted to go their own way because there were so many things that each of us wanted to see and do.
In the end, we decided to go together so that we could see everything.
There were pictures that were 3-in-1 depending on the angle you viewed them from, with different personalities visible from each side, inverted rooms, and the most interesting part was at the exit where we had to go through a tunnel. It was completely dark with strange lights all around, and the ground we walked on was shaking while the whole room was spinning, making you feel like you were going to fall on your head, but actually, you were standing on a bridge that was just swaying left and right. It was something incredible to store in the memory and remember for a long time.
I hope that your city has such a museum
and that if you haven't visited it yet, you will, because it's simply unforgettable.
When we finished our visit to the museum, the children wanted to go to a newly opened Asian store nearby to buy something from distant lands, so we stopped there for a while as well.
And then, of course, at the very exit of the city and before merging onto the highway, there had to be a fast food place. The children were hungry from walking and sightseeing, so we had to stop and grab a quick bite. Finally, after spending almost the entire day nicely, we headed home.
