In the south of Chile, in Patagonia, there is the well-known Torres del Paine National Park. It was named after the three needle-like granite mountains located in its central part, which are best known. But both in the park and in the Paine mountain range (Cordillera Paine) there are many, many other beautiful places.
Mountains, glaciers, lakes and rivers... the park is very large and insanely beautiful. Peculiar nature, rapidly changing and capricious weather — all this together adds up to pictures of amazing beauty. Today I am happy to share with you photos of the Paine Horns or Cuernos del Paine — these are mountains in the southern part of the Cordillera Paine.
These granite peaks look unusual, but very attractive: it seems to me that I have never seen such a clear boundary between such multi-colored, contrasting rocks that make up them. These mountains just attracted my eye and my camera :)
The Paine Horns look out into the turquoise waters of Nordenskjöld Lake, a glacial lake named after the Swedish discoverer. I love this calm, peaceful look.
Although changeable, cloudy and rainy weather often does not contribute to peace at all :) At the Mirador Cuernos viewpoint, located directly opposite the Paine Horns, very strong winds often blow.
The peaks of the Paine Horns are more than 2000 meters above sea level, not too much, but still impressive.
And the nature surrounding them is certainly beautiful, although the territory of the park suffered several times from extensive fires. But nature quickly heals these wounds, and the bare skeletons of trees, which you could see in a few photos above, look very picturesque here.
I will definitely tell and show a lot of photos from these places: Torres del Paine is a real natural pearl of the Earth.
