Good Morning photography world and Hive Family, today's bird feature is the Flamingo and I recently went to Sea World, so these are the good shot's that I had captured on this day. Was a pretty good day, hot but then cooled down towards the evening. I thought I'd be able to get many good ones but the way the Sun was, I was struggling to get a lot of them. I was able to capture some other stuff as well for some future posts, don't want to give all the goodies in one post. Let me know what shot's are your favorite of the six shot's posted.
What can I say about the Flaming, well I read that their is six different kinds of species and that they are all in tropical and subtropical places of North and South America, as well as Europe, Africa and Asia. What's crazy that I didn't even know is Flamingo's are not born with their pink color but thru time they consume carotenoid pigments from their diet. These are Caribbean Flamingo's and are the largest, with the best colors as well. They eat using their bill upside down, with the head in the water filtering as they get microorganisms. That's why they have these funky but cool looking bills. They are typically thirty one inches to fifty seven inches in length but the females are usually smaller than the males. They only produce one egg and their incubation time is twenty six days to thirty one. They have a life span of fifty years in the wild and I kinda wonder what they are here at Sea World. Now I know some aren't fans of places like this and some are, for me I am in the middle. I do feel all animals are better in the wild but these places do good for animals as well. It's a good and bad thing, just like anything else in our world. Anything in the wild is subject to survival of the fittest versus these animals at Zoo's and places like this, they must live a pretty good life as well, away from prey. Not to mention all the wildlife they take in to rehabilitate. All good though, I enjoyed this day and all the beauty of all the wildlife that came with it.
Now for the cover shot's, I am always trying to get the bird and the water drip and right here I did but not a big fan of the backdrop. I had the second one up then back down and up, decided to just keep this one.
This is a great shot, probably should be the cover shot but I just had to have the water drop shot.
Love this one too, more water drop is not such a bad thing.
Another cool water drop moment and has a cool different angle of the Flamingo.
Best shot of the gang right here, the color's are so cool to me.
These two need to calm down and get a room, haha but for real they look really friendly in this shot, not sure if male or female but cool nonetheless.
Anyways appreciate everyone feedback hope you have enjoyed my shots and post today' thanks for stopping by, Have a blessed one and thank you for coming in and checking out my shot's of the day. Stay tuned and enjoy my future shots in the world of photography, thru my lens.
