"Lightning Trout Caught by Local Fisherman"
Shot by Shoemanchu
Date 1-13-24
Good evening Hive family and all the photographers lovers around the world, what I got here for you all tonight is of these pretty cool shot's of this Lightning Trout caught by a local fisherman. This was at my local lake that has seven lakes in total and a campground as well. We all know the best day is the fish restock day and I was figuring it would be on a Friday, the day before this shot but it actually happened on the Tuesday before. Normally always on a Friday and around noon time too, I happened to be out there Tuesday and saw all the signs that lake four, as well as five were closed to fishing. I was like what the heck, proceeded to ask one of the park rangers if they are restocking today. She said yes I heard it on the radio, now it was early about seven in the morning, cold and still dark. She must have understood me, I was so excited that it was happening and happy I was there randomly that day but then around eleven I heard from one of the local photographers that they had already done it, at four in the morning. I was then saddened and realized none of the birds where really active. They already got there fix in early. They said since it was the re-opener of trout season, that they wanted to do it real early and have the lakes shut down to fishing til Saturday, so that the fish can spread out. Understandable but I was still a little disappointed to miss the action but its all good, I know they stock every two week but I really wanted to see the lightning trout coming out of the truck. I also know they only have done the lightning trout twice, so hopefully another day but I think they only do these fish on Trout openers.
What's crazy is I have fished my entire life and I have never heard or seen such a fish. A fun fact is the lightning trout is a created species, thru a selective breeding. Which makes since why I have never seen or heard of them. This fish is a rainbow trout and golden trout hybrid, which give it these vibrant colors. So cool to me and it was nice seeing these caught about six times this day and actually the guy pictured, I was there on the first, did some birding photography about two hours, came back and bang bang, he just pulled another one. This one right here weighed seven pounds, six ounces. Pretty nice catch if you ask me and he is really lucky to pull two of them. Anyways I posted three different shot's I took that day and I was really glad to get these, a first time shoot for me, so I always love that aspect about photography. Thanks for stopping by my blog and post tonight, have a blessed one, appreciate you all.
