"Readhead Duck"

Good evening Hive family and all the photographers lovers around the world, what I got here for you all tonight is a new feature, a new species I captured under the books now. This beauty is a Readhead duck that I captured at my local lake a few weeks back and I do have some more cool shot's, I suppose I will do another post later on down the road for this guy. I actually know I took more as well, so who know maybe we do more if they are better images to share here in our awesome photography community. This one is another special one for me, for I was pre-occupied one day with watching an Osprey to see if it dives and across the lake my photographer buddy, said just so you know their is a Readhead over there. I said oh nice, I need a new species captured, well after watching the Osprey do its thing and about thirty minutes later, we went over there and it was gone. All I could think of for two weeks is finding it, searching and searching every time I went out with no luck. Finally we found him and it was actually two, I was lets go, snapping away as he was real close to us. Fast forward a few more weeks, now I've seen up to four hanging around, so I have captured these guys like three or four times now. When you get into birding its like you want to cross all of them off a list but their are so many its impossible unless you are a world traveling photographer but then still maybe not possible. There are so many birds and ducks that I kind of wonder if anyone has ever done that.
As for the cover shot, the feature shot of this post. I had one up there but then I just had to put this close up portrait of this cool guy here. The detail is pretty good and I cant wait to get to the other shot's to see if I have any ones that are even better. That is always the next step, to get the shot of one species and being very satisfied of that shot. Don't get me wrong though, I do really like this one for sure. As for the next shot below, I like this one too and it was almost the cover, he just kept diving and feeding on the green stuff in the lake. What I like about this is his right eye still has half nictitating membrane closing or opening but the other eye is has already opened.
Thought this was a cool shot too, wished his wings were out but this shot was him actual going up into a dive, so I think its pretty dang cool. I think I remember getting one with his beak right before he enters too but those are the newer shot's that I have not gone thru yet.
As for the last shot, is the full body shot after he just came up out of the water, so this feature is the wet version of the Redhead because the newer ones they weren't diving as much, so I am sure I got dry shot's too, with some nice detail. Anyways hope you all enjoyed these, thanks for stopping by my post, have a blessed one.
