Isn't she cute? So what if the claws are on the wings! And the claws are there because it is a goatzin-a bird so strange that you can write a lot of interesting things about it.
Tropical bird goatzin (lat. Opisthocomus hoazin) lives in equatorial South America: from Colombia to Bolivia. In length, it reaches 60 cm, which is not small; the body is covered with colorful plumage, and the head is proudly crowned with a bright crest.
Birds can not fly more than 400 meters, feeds on leaves and stinks terribly as an adult, and the chicks on the wings grow claws (they are noticeable here).
Modern birds do not have claws on their wings, but they were characteristic of their extinct ancestors - such as archaeopteryx. The reason why the Goatzins retained the unusual claws is unknown.
There is an option that they first lost them, and then because of the need to climb branches in dense thickets, they "grew" again.
