D'água: a photoshoot on the river #NSFW

I want to go back to producing new photoshoots, as I am missing expressing myself through my photos. But, for now, this is not possible because here in Brazil we are still in a very critical phase of the pandemic. So I continue to do the exercise of looking at my old photos. In the process, I came across these photos taken in 2014. This photo shoot called D'água was made in the city of Amparo, on the Jaguari River, one of my favorite places here in the region where I live.

It was a winter morning and I recruited three volunteer friends to pose for the photos. The idea was to do a collective shoot with an artistic nude in the middle of nature and that was the closest and most propitious scenario. Giulia Cirilo, Gabriela Abdel and Helena Cury are the girls who faced very cold water to support my ideas.

Water has always been a recurring theme in my work and some say it is one of my signature. Just like nudity. For me, photographing naked bodies without objectifying them is more than a premise in my work. I like to portray mainly female bodies naturally and not reinforcing the hypersexualization that the cultural industry projects on our bodies.

Some photos got a B&W version, because I thought they made it more interesting.
