Here is a habit I'm trying to start. I'll be showing ten random photos on Tuesdays.
Here is a moray eel looking kind of mean at the Chicago Shedd Aquarium. It seemed to like posing for people near the edge of the glass.
Here are a couple hooded mergansers begging for food at a small zoo. I don't think they were part of the zoo and figured out that a zoo is a great place to snag treats from the humans.
Speaking of mergansers here is a male red-breasted merganser hunting for fish on the Chicago River. They are hilarious looking and when one catches a fish the rest dog pile to steal the fish. So they scuttle around with a fish in their mouth as fast as they can to find a quiet place to gulp it down. The fish often gets to escape during the fighting.
Meanwhile up above the river the seagulls are spying on office drones high up in the buildings. This building just got finished a couple years ago and I got to design a small office interior for a company up there. Perhaps the seagulls are admiring my reception desk and logo backdrop lol.
Meanwhile back at home there is a big old puffball waiting to get sliced and diced then dehydrated for soups.
Now that its fall over here the grass spiders are everywhere. Some are even making their way into my condo. Unfortunately for them they get caught and turned into models.
Here's a shot of the Trump tower from in between the Wrigley Building. New vs. Old architecture. The new skyscrapers remind me of vape pens.
Now back in the country here is Starved Rock State Park. This is a great place to observe bald eagles during the winter as well as do some ice climbing on the various waterfalls that freeze over during the winter.
Here is one of the bald eagles I was able to get with my zoom lens. They like to fish on the unfrozen part of the river in the background.
Now back to the city. This is the tourist trap Chicago Theater where I've seen a few comedians and musicians. Its a pretty good venue but fairly pricey. Sometimes I'll drive all the way up to Milwaukee to see the same act in a smaller venue rather than a packed one in Chicago.
That's all the randomness for now thanks for looking :-)
