Here are ten random photos for #tuesdayten
This is a shot from the underground portion of Chicago. Every now and then in the underground tunnel they have little spaces looking out up to the skyscrapers above. You can use this passageway to avoid rain, but I wouldn't recommend going down there at nigh as there will be rats as big as cats down there.
Here are a couple cicadas creating the next generation of cicadas. This pair was in the middle of the road, so I had to relocate them before the got smashed by a car lol. If it feels good do it in the street?
This is a photo from Torch Lake in Michigan where I took a kayak out to the sand bar. The ducks saw me and started begging for food immediately. The only tricky thing about this sandbar area is the nematode parasites that cause swimmers itch. Its because of these ducks too, they eat snails with the parasite eggs in them and then the parasite grows in the ducks guts then they poop them out in the water and swimmers end up getting little worms burrowing in their legs lol. The only way to combat them is to put lots of waterproof sunscreen on so the worms can't get past it.
Here's a shot of the water taxi I missed because the train was late. Oh well now its time to walk to work and get exercise.
Winter is coming... I got this one year or two ago. Be careful looking up don't want one of these spiking you in the eye.
Sometimes when working late at work I have to walk from the train station home along this path. It looks nice and eerie after a winter snow and everything is pitch black out. Thankfully there are some lamps to light the way so you can see the black ice and avoid doing a backflip by stepping on it.
Here is a spined micrathena. They are all over the place in the forests here and I usually end up getting covered in their webs while searching for mushrooms. Sometimes the poor things end up crawling all over me wondering what dimensions they've traveled to.
Here's the House of Blues in Chicago. I used to go to concerts here all the time. It's an ok venue but the sound isn't the greatest inside compared to other venues around here.
Looks like we have a situation here... Immovable object meets unstoppable force? Plant hoppers are weird.
To end with I have a monochrome alleyway that works great as a shortcut to the train station. If you go in here too late at night the rats will be scurrying everywhere so its best to avoid this area unless you have a tiny rat terrier with you. So far I haven't seen ratting take hold as hobby downtown yet, they definitely need it.
That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)
