El Caribe venezolano tiene playas absurdamente bellas, y lo mejor es que algunas no son ni muy conocidas ni muy visitadas, cosa que ha hecho que se mantengan con poca intervención del ser humano, es decir, en un estado más natural.
At the end of 2016 I traveled to a place with these characteristics: La Tortuga Island, with the aim of writing an article for a tourist magazine, and of course, I also took the opportunity to take many photos, something that didn't go quite right because my camera chose that spectacular scenery to begin to present failures with the focus and the images were blurred, however by making a little pressure on the lens I managed to capture a few with sharpness.
A finales del año 2016 viajé a un lugar con esas características: la isla La Tortuga, con el objetivo de escribir un artículo para una revista turística, y claro, también aproveché para tomar muchas fotos, algo que no salió del todo bien porque mi cámara escogió ese escenario tan espectacular para empezar a presentar fallas con el enfoque y las imágenes quedaban borrosas, sin embargo haciéndole un poco de presión al lente logré captar unas cuantas con nitidez.

La Tortuga has 156 km2, which makes it the second largest island in Venezuela after Margarita, one of the most famous tourist sites in the country. The difference is that Margarita has cities, towns, services, etc., and La Tortuga has not, it hasn't been developed, and that is its main attraction.
La Tortuga tiene 156 Km2, lo que la convierte en la segunda isla más grande de Venezuela después de Margarita, uno de los sitios turísticos más famosos del país. La diferencia es que Margarita tiene ciudades, pueblos, servicios, etc., y La Tortuga no, no ha sido desarrollada, y ese es su principal atractivo.
It's about 100 km from the coast of Miranda state, getting here is not that easy either, by boat from Higuerote, as I did, it takes about 4 hours, quite agitated by the waves and those who prefer to go by plane (from 2 to 10 passengers), it is possible but very expensive, there is a small landing strip.
Está a unos 100 Km de las costas del estado Miranda, llegar acá tampoco es tan sencillo, en lancha desde Higuerote, como yo lo hice, son unas 4 horas bastante agitadas por las olas y los que prefieran ir en avioneta (de 2 a 10 pasajeros), es posible pero muy costoso, hay una pequeña pista de aterrizaje.
An anecdote from my trip is that the boat where we were going had one of its two engines damaged and the journey was slower than usual, it took us 7 hours to get there, but since we had left very early in the morning, at noon we already put feet in the white sand of Cayo Herradura, the side of the island where the camps that receive visitors are located.
Una anécdota de mi viaje es que a la lancha donde íbamos se le dañó uno de sus dos motores y el trayecto fue más lento de lo usual, tardamos 7 horas en llegar, pero como habíamos salido muy temprano en la mañana, al mediodía ya pusimos los pies en la blanquísima arena de Cayo Herradura, el lado de la isla donde están los campamentos que reciben a los visitantes.
I had paid for a weekend package that included everything: transportation, boat, tents and meals and drinks, so my only concern was to see the place and ask the tour operators about the island so I could write my article and also, of course, enjoy all that scenery.

La Tortuga has a lighthouse, it is the only construction that stands out in the landscape.

When you get closer you find a lot of greenery around it.

A little further there were some stones piled with some crosses, could they be graves? I didn't get to know it, perhaps some of the fishermen who do their work around the island want their remains to rest here...
Un poco más allá había unas piedras amontonadas con unas cruces, ¿serían unas tumbas? No lo supe, quizás algunos de los pescadores que hacen su labor en los alrededores de la isla quieren que sus restos reposen aquí...
Cayo Herradura beach is ideal for swimming, it has no waves and the water temperature is very pleasant.

When we did the boat tour to another part of the island we were able to observe a little the dynamics of the fishermen, they were catching lobsters.

The white sands and clear waters are not the only thing that can be seen here, as we move away a little we begin to see another type of landscape.

We arrived at Carenero Bay, a place with indescribable blues, there we spent a good time swimming and throwing ourselves from the large rocks that surround it.
Llegamos a la Bahía de Carenero, un lugar con azules indescriptibles, allí estuvimos un buen rato nadando y lanzándonos de las grandes rocas que la rodean.

Then I put some pressure on the lens and it fixed for a while, so I was able to continue shooting. Here the fishermen have made some huts to take shelter when they stay to sleep.

Then we returned to Cayo Herradura, we ate and we went to walk to another part near the camp, there our dog guide was waiting for us again.
Luego regresamos a Cayo Herradura comimos y nos fuimos a caminar hacia otra parte cerca del campamento, allí nos esperaba nuevamente nuestro guía perruno.
The morning of our departure the sky clouded over and it looked like it was going to rain a lot, but only a few drops fell. This climate intensified the entire range of blues that can be seen on La Tortuga Island, it was a true visual symphony.
La mañana de nuestra partida el cielo se nubló y parecía que iba a llover muchísimo, pero sólo cayeron unas gotas. Este clima intensificó toda la gama de azules que se pueden ver en la isla La Tortuga, era una verdadera sinfonía visual.
