El mar Caribe es un lugar icónico para los que sueñan con unas vacaciones playeras ideales: palmeras, arena blanca, aguas cristalinas e indescriptibles azules turquesas, entre otras bondades para el disfrute. Es lo que les vengo a mostrar en esta publicación, una playa que visité hace tiempo, ubicada en una pequeña isla venezolana: Coche. Para llegar hasta allá hay que viajar a Nueva Esparta, el único estado insular de Venezuela.
On a short vacation to which I invited my mom, we went by plane to Margarita Island, the largest island of Nueva Esparta state, with the intention of visiting a part of Coche. At El Yaque beach we took a boat there, a short trip of about 20 minutes. Upon arrival we were greeted by the scenery of La Punta beach:
En unas cortas vacaciones a las que invité a mi mamá, fuimos en avión a la isla de Margarita, la más grande del estado Nueva Esparta, con la intención de conocer una parte de Coche. En playa El Yaque tomamos una lancha hacia allá, un corto viaje de unos 20 minutos. Al llegar nos recibió el paisaje de playa La Punta:
The boats arrive at this small dock built with wooden planks.
Las embarcaciones arriban a este pequeño muelle construido con tablas de madera.
I had purchased a three-day tour package that included a beachfront hotel stay and all meals and drinks, so as soon as we arrived we checked in, left our stuff in the room and went to enjoy the place without wasting any time.
Había comprado un paquete turístico de tres días que incluía estadía en un hotel frente a la playa y todas las comidas y bebidas, así que apenas llegamos nos registramos, dejamos nuestras cosas en la habitación y nos fuimos a disfrutar del lugar sin perder tiempo.
Coche island has an area of 55 square kilometers and La Punta beach is the most visited and where there are more hotels and services for tourists, however there are no crowds, so you can enjoy a quiet atmosphere.
La isla de Coche tiene una superficie de 55 Km cuadrados y playa La Punta es la más visitada y donde hay más hoteles y servicios para los turistas, sin embargo no se ven multitudes, así que puedes disfrutar de un ambiente tranquilo.
This beach is about 3 km long, the sun hits very hard here so a good sunscreen is a must. Its waters are very calm and warm, in some sections I saw some handfuls of seaweed.
Esta playa tiene unos 3 Km de extensión, el sol pega muy fuerte aquí por lo que un buen bloqueador solar es imprescindible. Sus aguas son muy serenas y cálidas, en algunas secciones vi algunos puñados de algas.
The hotel where we stayed is called Coche Paradise, and its facilities are about 100 meters from the shore of the beach. Its style is very nice, with many plants, lots of greenery and wood and other natural materials such as palm leaves are the protagonists of the design.
El hotel en el que nos hospedamos se llama Coche Paradise, y sus instalaciones están a unos 100 metros de la orilla de la playa. Su estilo es muy bonito, con muchas plantas, mucho verdor y la madera y otros materiales naturales como las hojas de las palmeras son protagonistas del diseño.
As for the rooms, they are small cottages or cabins in the gardens, in short: a tropical dream!
En cuanto a las habitaciones, son pequeñas casitas o cabañas entre los jardines, en resumen: ¡todo un sueño tropical!
Some animals are also present here and live freely in the open spaces.
Algunos animales también están presentes aquí y viven libremente en los espacios abiertos.
During the days we were there we took sunset walks along the shore of the beach. On the one hand you have a beautiful and relaxing landscape and on the other hand the excitement of being able to see the practice of sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing. Coche island has schools to learn and is one of the best places in the world for the development of these disciplines, many national and international championships have been held here.
Durante los días que estuvimos allí hicimos caminatas al atardecer por la orilla de la playa. Por un lado tienes un paisaje hermoso y relajante y por el otro la emoción de poder ver la práctica de deportes como el windsurf y el kitesurf. La isla de Coche tiene escuelas para aprender y es uno de los mejores lugares del mundo para el desarrollo de estas disciplinas, se han realizado muchos campeonatos nacionales e internacionales aquí.
Exploring around there we came across these bushes, the natural vegetation here is not very abundant, it is an arid island and rain is not frequent, and there are no permanent sources of fresh water.
Explorando por allí nos topamos con estas matas, la vegetación natural aquí no es muy abundante, es una isla árida y la lluvia no es algo frecuente, además tampoco existen fuentes de agua dulce de forma permanente.
In Coche you can also do activities such as excursions to the interior of the island and to other beaches, jet ski rides, diving, snorkeling and many more, I signed up for a tour that took me out to sea for a couple of hours, to a shallow area where we could see many colorful fish, corals, sea urchins and starfish.
En Coche también se pueden hacer actividades como excursiones hacia el interior de la isla y a otras playas, paseos en motos de agua, buceo, snorkel y muchas más, yo me anoté en un tour que me llevó mar adentro por un par de horas, a una área de poca profundidad donde pudimos ver muchos peces de colores, corales, erizos y estrellas de mar.
