White hibiscus
which is cultivated for its large brightly colored flowers. Chinese hibiscus is the most common species of hibiscus and is grown as an ornamental shrub in tropical and subtropical regions worldwide. The origin of Chinese hibiscus is disputed; it probably originated in Southeast Asia, although some authorities point to Vanuatu in Oceania or various other tropical regions. No wild populations of the plant have been found in modern times.
Plumeria pudica
A popular ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical regions. It is known for its beautiful, fragrant white flowers and glossy green leaves. The plant can grow as a shrub or small tree and prefers humid tropical climates. It has a dormant period during the cooler months. It thrives in warm temperatures and high humidity. Water the plant regularly to keep the soil evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging. During its dormant period, reduce watering. The plant can be grown both indoors and outdoors, but it requires adequate light and warmth.
Furus or Sawney.
A published and a fine purple flowering crepe myrtle that has not yet been crossed. Dark purple purple flowers appear together in October. Blooms with regular summer irrigation in full sun and rich soil. Water deeply once a week during the flowering period. It blooms and blooms in the hottest time of the year. Regular watering in April will help produce earlier and larger blooms in the summer. In the fall the leaves turn a bright neon orange/red/yellow color that is just as spectacular as the blooms. Over time the bark turns a smooth tan. Moderately resistant to fungus - give it good air circulation in an open area. This tree makes a fine value even though it is limited in size. We grow it as a multi-stemmed specimen. Long-lived, easy-to-grow small tree. Catawba retains its popularity because there are very few dark purple flowering crepe myrtles that do not fade too much after the blooms open. This selection retains the intensity of purple.
