PHILThere are so many options for the camera. However, if you divide it by type, you can reduce the options to only two types. That is, the Filka of the RF method, and the second is the Filca of the SLR method. Since the Nikon FM2 is my favourite SLR type camera, it would be convenient to explain it as Leica MP vs Nikon FM2.
Leica MP vs Nikon FM2 Which one is right for you?
First of all, if you ignore the two prices and explain. There is a difference between the two cameras. Firstly, Leica film cameras can use everything from old lenses that are over 50 years old to current lenses that were recently released. Most film camera lenses are old lenses, and there are many types whose optical performance is slightly inferior to that of modern lenses, so in this sense, Leica can enjoy both old and modern sensations.
On the other hand, the Nikon FM2 is an old lens, but it feels like an intermediate level between an old lens with poor optical performance and a recent lens with intensive optical technology. That means the quality is moderately good. However, the biggest advantage of the FM2 over the Leica is its short focal length. Because of this, you can take amazing pictures of food. The texture of the film + the feel of the food. Kya

As you can feel from the last picture, Nikon lenses, especially F/1.4 maximum aperture lenses, are an art of bokeh.
On the other hand, Leica has the great advantage that it has a vivid feeling like digital photography and beautiful colour development.

If you look at the two photos taken in the same place, they are clear enough to believe that they are digital photos. That's because I'm using the current lens. By the way, if you use an old lens, the texture of the film quality changes drastically.

Of course, it is still clear. However, with this old lens that is over 50 years old, the texture of the film feels a little better.
the look of the camera
In fact, the look of the camera design is very important. I think the process of taking pictures starts with the experience of holding a camera. If it's not pretty, it's like work. If it is beautiful, I want to keep touching it, and I want to think more about it and take pictures very carefully. In that sense, the Leica camera is very beautiful.
The Leica MP looks nice, but I am satisfied with all aspects, such as the sound of the winding lever when rewinding the film, the sound of the shutter and the feeling when rewinding the film. Also, Leica film cameras are quiet because they are mirrorless. It feels as if the shutter sound is 'popping' and dropping slightly. Because of this, there is less shaking. Up to 1/30th of a second is natural and, with practice, you can take pictures without shaking even 1/15th or 1/8th of a second!
On the other hand, the Nikon FM2 has a strong shutter sound. I can feel the strong vibration with the 'Clap' sound. It is the sound produced by the process of folding and unfolding the mirror. There can be a little movement in this process. So, with the Nikon FM2, it is almost impossible to take pictures at a speed of less than 1/30th of a second. Even if you succeed once or twice, it is difficult to continue to succeed.
