How are you guys? I'm back after some days. I just had too busy days that i came home and fell asleep without opening up my pc.
Maroon Day
Every 10th of october Suriname celebrates the day of Maroons. The Maroons are Africans that came to our country/were brought to our country by Dutch colonials to work on plantations in Suriname as slaves. This day the Maroons honour their victory over the Dutch slave masters.
In Suriname this day is celebrated as a national day off. We celebrate this with the Maroon people in their style. They have kept their culture, food music, way of living, language and a lot more alive off what they brought from different parts of Africa. We are one multi cultural society and we all celebrate this together.

Hoe gaat het met jullie? Ik ben terug na enkele drukke dagen. Ik had het zo druk dat ik thuis kwam in direct in slaap viel. Ik kon me pc niet aanraken.Marron Dag
Elke 10 oktober vieren wij in Suriname de dag der Marrons. Marrons zijn Afrikanen die naar ons land gebracht werden door Nederlanders (bazen) om te werken op de plantages als slaven. Deze dag wordt herdacht als de winst over de slavenmeesters.
In Suriname is dit een nationale vrije dag. We vieren dit samen met onze Marrons broeders en zusters. Ze hebben hun cultuur, gerechten, muziek, manier van leven, taal en nog veel meer in takt gehouden die ze uit verschillende delen van Afrika gebracht hadden. We zijn een multi culturele samenleving en we vieren dit samen.

Vandaag deel ik enekele foto's van een Marron vriend van me. Aan de foto's zie je hun manier van klederdracht. Diep in ons Amazone binnenland dragen ze nog steeds zo. Dit is hun traditie...
