a walk at the port
Good Morning, and have a good day
Today I will share a few shots from a walk around the port last year, I havent got out for a walk yet this year, we have had some nice days, but also a lot of rain, and Mother nature is teasing me the only days we have a nice warm and sunny day seems to be the days we have appointments or things to do and hence I cannot get out for a walk, but I remain hopeful I will be out with my camera soon
Looking at these shots I share today I am feeling for the families of two fishermen who lost their lives recently, their fishing boat capsized and sadly, both of the crew passed away my thoughts are with their family and friends
There is quite a variety of fishing boats intheport, some looking new or at least freshly painted and some showing the wear and tear from hard work out on the water

The Port of New Bedford serves as the home port for more than 500 commercial fishing vessels, particularly known for its scallop fleet. On a daily basis, roughly 300 to 400 commercial fishing boats are active in the port, with up to 150 additional vessels utilizing the port from across the U.S. Atlantic coast.
Commercial fishermen in New Bedford, MA primarily catch sea scallops, ocean quahog, Atlantic surf clam, haddock, American lobster, Northern shortfin squid, and monkfish, according to multiple sources. While they don't catch the most popular seafood in the US, like shrimp, their landings of scallops, monkfish, lobster, cod, and oysters are significant. New Bedford is the #1 fishing port in the US by fish landings value, with sea scallops being a major contributor

in some parts of the port the boats are docked a few boats deep, and I guess they must all coordinate when they head out, otherwise how would the boats closer to the dock get out with other boats docked alongside them
and on other piers they are just one boat against the dock
