Boats on Popes Island
Good Morning and have a great day
Today I will share a few shots of boats in the marinas on Pope's island, mainly focusing on two of the marinas, the Pope's Island Marina and Fleet Marina, both on the same side of the island
Starting with POpoes Island marina, which is the larger of the two
The facility features 204 slips, 810 feet of fixed pier, and over 300 moorings.
Launch Service: A marina-based launch connects boaters to New Bedford's historic downtown for approximately $3–$4 per person each way (children under 12 often ride for free).
Thats something I didn't know about, but I guess why would I, I do not have a boat and have no plans to buy one.
I did notice they seemed to be doing some upgrades there on visits last year and looking it up I found the upgrades include newly renovated bathrooms and showers as of 2025. Other onsite amenities include:
Coin-operated laundry
Free Wi-Fi and pump-out service
Picnic areas with gas grills
and also for those with childen it may be a bonus having a large, ADA-accessible playground and waterfront park adjacent to the marina.
And all that being said I just enjoy looking at the boats in the early morning light, even though I do ot have any interest in heading out on a boat anytime soon

Next up is also at Fleet Marina, which is a premiere commercial and personal marina located at 226 Popes Island, New Bedford, MA, known for having the "largest & longest floating docks" in the city.
