Buoys Life savers and such
Good Morning all wishing one and all a great day.
For todays post I am sharing a few shots taken on a fairly recent walk around the port here in New Bedford as well as taking shots of the fishing boats in full I often am looking for details on the boats that catch my eye and that's what I will share with you today.
Starting off with life preserver ring

I wasn't sure what to call them and did a bit of reading online and found out yes that's an apt name but they can also be called a life ring, lifebuoy ring or marine ring. These rings are used to save someone if they fall overboard into the water, especially if you're sailing or out on the open water
and here is another one
All the boats have them onboard, I am sure it must be some safety regulation or other that they must have them onboard
On this one some has tied on a few empty milk bottles to it, perhaps ther ei someone heavy on board who would need extra flotation LOL

Another thing you see a lot of in a port is ropes in all sizes and colors, such as this one which was used to tie up one of the boats

And another thin there are lots of are buoys, sone as this next one used on the side of the boats to protect the boats against banging against the dock

I think these next ones are for the same purpose

And a last one to finish off this post
