Heritage State Park Fall River MA
Good Morning and have a good one
Today I will share a few shots of a visit to Heritage State park in Fall River MA about a half an hour drive from home for me, I do not often visit spots in Fall River, and some can be shall I say a little shady and not to safe to walk around in the early morning when I mostly head out,
But this park is one I do go to has a nice long walk way by the water and I often see others walking there and it feels very safe.
MY first shot if of the Brage Braige with some of the ships in Battle ship cover seen under it, I havent bene to Battleship Cove itself yet but it is on my to do list.
The bridge has got a lot of attention on Social media these last few days as they have been testing the lights on the bridge, installing them has been a long and costly project, the times I visited there last year the lights were not on, infact I have only seen them on once when I visited there a couple of years ago.
Well supposedly the project is near completion and hence the testing of lights at the moment from 8PM to 5AM
on Social media there have been so many complaining about the huge cost of installing them and how it would have bene better spent on so many other projects they feel are more important which may well be true, however i think the funsing is from the state and not the city.
Someone shared a photo of what they claimed to be the bridge with the lights in a rainbow pattern which had so many bitching about, funny thing is a simple reverse image search showed the photo was actually of a similar style bridge in Canada
I did look up the funding and found this
The aesthetic lighting project for the Braga Bridge, connecting Fall River and Somerset, Massachusetts, is a multi-year effort funded primarily by the state to enhance city aesthetics and promote tourism. The project has seen significant cost increases, with the initial estimated budget rising from around $8 million to a projected total closer to $20 million by 2023
