Harbor Walk Long Exposures
on a recent post in comments with I mentioned I sometimes took longer exposures to try and flatter out the water to give almost a glassy, Mirror like feel to it, and that motivated me at the time to get my Neutral Density Filters out of the cupboard and load them into the car so I could take some on a morning walk, and I did it the other morning.
With Lulu doing Better and not being a morning person like me I have been quietly heading out the door at about 4:30 Am and heading to the Harbor walk down by the cove here in New Bedford to catch the sunrise, I have been there three time sin the last week and these were from one of those visits and walk.
For me its a great way to start the day some fresh air, a walk by the water ( been doing about 3 Miles most mornings, which I am happy with, nothing like the 5 to 10 Miles I would regular do before work a year or so ago, but slowly building back up again)
Now I will admit this morning i messed up, I was up even earlier than normal and out the door by 4Am, got to the Harbor walk, grabbed my camera bag and walked the length of the cove, and only then did I remember i had the filters in the car, would have bene a perfect time for long exposure shots, but Ohh well maybe next time and I do have these ones to share from a previous visit there
And one end of the Harbor Walk is this pier which I tend to get shots of each visit there, so you may get to see a lot of it.

The sunrise was fairly subdued the morning I took these but still a great start to the day.
this one is the shortest of the long exposures at 3.2 Seconds.
Of course you need a tripod to do long exposures hand held will become too blurry

I did warn you that you may see a lot of this pier here it is again, with a 22 second exposure, it was breezy that morning and the water a little choppy but you can see the long exposure evens out the water

and the pier sneaks in again on this last shot, I should find other spots to catch sunrise nearby, I did try the local fort, but it only opens after sunrise and the gates were locked with a police car parked in the entrance, but that said I do love this spot and the sunrise is different every day so I may keep going there for most morning outings
