Having lived near mountains for most of my life I have seen that phenomenon very often. It's fascinating how the clouds only form around the mountains when conditions are right, as well in summer the thunderstorms always build right on top of those mountains as well.
Those are some great shots of The Dome. It must look beautiful with a layer of snow on top, but it's probably good it's not cold enough yet. That means you have less cold to endure!
That is such a beautiful landscape you have all around you and even have some palm trees. I can see why you relocated out there, it's never easy making that kind of change. But it looks like it was well worth it!
I hope the weather continues to treat you well, it sure will make it easier to get out and catch some more great shots with the second wife! lol
