On one side there’s the concrete jungle, and on the other, the real jungle spread across the hills. I clicked this scene right after the rain had stopped, when sunlight started breaking through the clouds. The upper part of the buildings caught the sunlight, while the lower half stayed hidden under the shade of the huge sky above. Even though the clouds were still hanging around, the horizon showed that soft baby blue shade we usually get to see only after heavy rain. If you look closely, the darker tones of blue are also there in the sky. I did edit the pictures, but not too much—just enough to make the colors stand out a little more.
एक तरफ कंक्रीट का जंगल है, तो दूसरी तरफ पहाड़ियों पर फैला असली जंगल। मैंने यह नज़ारा बारिश थमने के ठीक बाद, जब बादलों के बीच से सूरज की रोशनी छनकर आने लगी थी, क्लिक किया। इमारतों के ऊपरी हिस्से ने सूरज की रोशनी को अपनी गिरफ़्त में ले लिया, जबकि निचला हिस्सा ऊपर विशाल आकाश की छाया में छिपा रहा। हालाँकि बादल अभी भी छाए हुए थे, क्षितिज पर वह हल्का नीला रंग दिखाई दे रहा था जो आमतौर पर हमें भारी बारिश के बाद ही देखने को मिलता है। अगर आप ध्यान से देखें, तो आसमान में नीले रंग के गहरे रंग भी दिखाई दे रहे हैं। मैंने तस्वीरों को एडिट किया है, लेकिन बहुत ज़्यादा नहीं—बस इतना कि रंग थोड़े और उभरकर सामने आ सकें।
Right below the footpath where I was taking the pictures, a black dog and a brown dog were curled up together. The rainy chill must have made them doze off like that. Far away, near the horizon, I could see the mist slowly rolling in.
जिस फुटपाथ पर मैं तस्वीरें ले रहा था, ठीक उसके नीचे एक काला कुत्ता और एक भूरा कुत्ता एक साथ दुबके हुए थे। बारिश की ठंड ने शायद उन्हें ऐसे ही ऊँघने पर मजबूर कर दिया होगा। दूर, क्षितिज के पास, मैं धुंध को धीरे-धीरे घिरते हुए देख सकता था।
This is the other side of the town, captured while I was on my way back home. The photo shows layers right in front of me..the grass first, then the forest, followed by the buildings, with the clouds above them and finally the sky on top.
यह शहर का दूसरा पहलू है, जिसे मैंने घर लौटते समय कैद किया था। इस तस्वीर में मेरे सामने कई परतें दिखाई दे रही हैं—पहले घास, फिर जंगल, फिर इमारतें, उनके ऊपर बादल और आखिर में आसमान।
From a bit further away, I could see the road, and the cars parked along it looked really tiny.
थोड़ी दूर से मुझे सड़क दिखाई दे रही थी और सड़क के किनारे खड़ी कारें बहुत छोटी लग रही थीं।
Finally the evening came. The sun set, filling the horizon with yellow and orange. The sky slowly turned purple and blue.Down below, lights from the buildings came on, and a few cars went up the winding road. The town felt still in that moment between day and night.
आख़िरकार शाम हो गई। सूरज डूब गया, क्षितिज पीले और नारंगी रंग से भर गया। आसमान धीरे-धीरे बैंगनी और नीला हो गया। नीचे, इमारतों की रोशनियाँ जल उठीं, और कुछ गाड़ियाँ घुमावदार सड़क पर चल पड़ीं। दिन और रात के उस पल में शहर शांत सा लग रहा था।
