I still didn't read the manual
While trying out my brand new camera, I try to capture as many things as possible and the two cats are definitely most captured so far because they, well, sleep a lot and then they're easy to capture. Today I planned on reading the manual further but honestly I was so caught up in other stuff that needed to be done today so I didn't get to that.
Tomorrow I need to finish the quarterly taxes first and in the afternoon we have a dentist appointment which I almost forgot about until they send me the reminder. I bet it will not be until the weekend that I find time to actually read and learn rather than just giving things a go and hope for the best. At least this gives me a bit of time to get used to the heavy camera over always using a phone, because I still feel a bit weird holding it. Practice makes perfect, they say..
Cats are easy test subject
Today I want to share with you a few shots I took of Luna while I was actually not taking pictures of her but trying to figure out settings for moon shots. I feel a bit spoiled mentioning the fact that I can sit on our couch and depending on where the moon is, see the moon light up from there. Today I thought this was a perfect opportunity to sit there while having my arms rest on the armrest (as it's such a heavy camera it's very welcome) but then the moon kept disappearing behind the clouds and I was waiting for it to reappear.
Frustrated
As I didn't figure out all settings and got a bit impatient while I saw the moon appear again and my camera taking forever to process the shot. So instead I put the camera back to some other settings and noticed Luna in the screen while looking around. I decided to see if the camera would capture her sharp and was surprised that three out of four shots were ok. This one was blurry though:
Yet I managed to get two shots at that moment this one below and the one in the header, which I believe are certainly not bad. I surely haven't had many great pictures of Luna like that with my phone.
Which is best?
I'm curious which one you think is best, the last or the first picture in this blog? And of course I'd love to know why. Chances are that I don't fully understand what you're saying though because I yet have to learn what all the photography terms mean. Still, I'm happy to receive feedback from more experienced photographers any time.
Although the initial moon shots were very disappointing, at least I got these different "moon" shots out of it tonight. Luna is moon in Spanish, in case you didn't get that..
