The story is about how we drove to the very top of the cliff and almost crashed the car.
It was in September, at that time we had been on vacation in the Crimea for about a month and a half, visiting a lot of beautiful places. And we were going to head to the last point of the Crimea before leaving the peninsula for the mainland. We have never seen a White Rock close up (only from a distance from the highway) and decided to stop by to see it closer, inspired by Instagram photos. Unfortunately, we could not see the herds of horses running against the background of the rock, which is most often associated with this place, but still the place is really amazing but also dangerous at the same time.
We first drove up to the bottom of the cliff using the navigator, passing the horses that were in the paddocks. We did not know that it was possible to climb to the very top, but we saw several people at the top and decided to look for a road along which you can drive a car up.
The road was found quickly enough, but it is very bad and you can damage the car. But it didn't stop us =) we love adventures and difficulties =) And we did not regret that we still took a chance and reached the top and found ourselves at an altitude of 325 meters. There are incredible views from there. You feel free and happy that you can see all the beauty of nature from a height.
The White Rock or it is also called Ak-Kaya was the place of execution in the Middle Ages. Bogdan Khmelnitsky also visited the top of the White Rock, he saw how prisoners were thrown down. I also read that many films were shot here. The white rock consists of limestone and sandstone, due to them it becomes white.
Just take a look at the photo and feel this fresh mountain air =) We admired the beauty so much that we forgot about the time and that we had to go back, and already the time was approaching sunset and as soon as the sun sets, then full darkness begins in the mountains. Therefore, we hurried to go back, but still did not have time to get on a good road before dark.
We drove very hard on the rocks back, scratched the bottom of the car several times. When we went down the mountain, we decided to stay in the Crimea for a few more days to visit a couple of beautiful places, but that's another story =)
