REGETA LEPA IN SEMPORNA
Regeta Lepa or also know as Lepa-lepa boat festival is being held in Semporna in April every year. The festival was a big festival that being waited everyone in Semporna because at this festival all the boat or ship will gather at port to show off their awesome dance and culture to everyone.
There is boat everywhere and it was colourfull . During this festival , every boat will playing their music using traditional instrument and it was non-stop. I found out myself was dancing while walking around the port , but it was not only me but also the people who visiting this place.
Every boat also has their dancer that using their colourful traditional costume . Visitor is allowed to take picture or selfie with them , everyone also encourage to donate money by putting the money at their finger . This dance was known as Igal-igal which being danced during any festival like wedding and it was their culture to give money to their favourite dancer.
