In this time of the pandemic, traveling can be really difficult. Aside from the availability of transportation vehicles (private or public), the possibility of contracting the virus and getting infected is something we need to be careful of. During this time, most countries around the world are now easing and transitioning back to normalcy. However, from where I live, I can say that we are still far from getting to that point.
Since last year, my plans of visiting our home in the province were scrapped. I had to settle to for once every two months since public transportation is really difficult right now. Two weeks ago, I was able to visit home. I was very excited because whenever I would ask my mama about the weather in our province, she would always answer that it's all sunny and warm.
During that time, Metro Manila, the place where I work, was always gloomy and cloudy. In particular with the city where I live, there were days we'd have localized thunderstorm. I rarely go out of our apartment, but the view of gray skies from our window is still something that will make you sentimental rather than joyful.
What felt like a walk in a museum, only it's the outdoors
My habit whenever I had to endure long drives is that I would always read a book. An hour or two of reading while in transit allows me to read more pages than just sitting in my apartment. However, at that time, I just couldn't ignore the view outside the car. Everything was just picturesque.
The road along lush planes
Even though our travel usually lasts up to three hours in the road, most of our route have this view. I was missing this refreshing look of Nature, that I decided to just close the book I was reading and watch the rolling clouds outside.
The sun peeping from time to time
Thought I would get bored after a few minutes, but the sun peeping from time to time made the view change from time to time too. There were quick moments of seeing silver linings.
Better days are yet to come
Contrary to most people who loves being on the front seat, I usually sit at the back seat. I love seeing the view where we just passed by (maybe, to just see if I missed something). The roads were empty when we went home, it says a lot about how travel is still very difficult for everyone here in our country. But, even with the situation we are currently in, I am, most of the time, hopeful. Better days are yet to come. It's something I always tell to myself. Hope you enjoy this photo journal, and I hope things are well for you too, if you have reached this post. :)
