No visit to Glasgow is complete without taking at least one ride on the iconic underground, which runs in a circular route in both directions and serves a total of 15 stations. Because of its orange colour scheme, it is also known as the “Clockwork Orange”. Today’s trains look very futuristic. It’s hard to believe that this is the third-oldest subway system in the world. By the way, the trains are much narrower than in other cities. Anyone over 1.80m tall won’t have much headroom. There isn’t much space on the platforms either when it’s busy. On the plus side, though, it’s a really cheap and quick way to get from A to B.

Kein Besuch von Glasgow ist komplett, ohne zumindest einmal mit der ikonischen U-Bahn gefahren zu sein, die ringförmig in beide Richtungen verläuft und insgesamt 15 Stationen bedient. Aufgrund der orangenen Farbakzente wird sie auch "Clockwork Orange" genannt. Die heutigen Züge wirken sehr futuristisch. Kaum zu glauben, dass es sich um die drittälteste U-Bahn der Welt handelt. Übrigens sind die Züge viel enger, als in anderen Städten. Wer über 1,80m groß ist, genießt nicht wirklich viel Kopffreiheit. Auch auf den Bahnsteigen hat man nicht wirklich viel Platz, wenn viel los ist. Dafür kommt man aber wirklich günstig und schnell von A nach B.
