I have often noticed that the blue illuminated signs of the Berlin subway in the city center harmonize beautifully with the blue hour sky. Some of the entrances are located in the middle of the street, between two lanes, so I was able to use a long exposure time to bring light trails from vehicles into the picture.
Dass die blau leuchtenden Schilder der Berliner U-Bahn im Stadtzentrum sehr schön mit dem Himmel der blauen Stunde harmonieren, war mir schon öfters aufgefallen. Einige der Eingänge befinden sich mittig auf der Straße, zwischen zwei Fahrspuren, sodass es mir möglich war, durch eine lange Belichtungszeit Lichtspuren von Fahrzeugen ins Bild zu bringen.
The second shot was taken in front of the famous Babylon - a historic cinema in the Mitte district that opened in 1929. It is an important example of expressionist architecture and was one of the first movie theaters in the city. Today, the Babylon is not only used for film screenings, but also for festivals, concerts and other cultural events.
Die zweite Aufnahme entstand vor dem berühmten Babylon – einem historischen Kino im Stadtteil Mitte, das 1929 eröffnet wurde. Es ist ein bedeutendes Beispiel expressionistischer Architektur und war eines der ersten Lichtspielhäuser der Stadt. Heute wird das Babylon nicht nur für Filmvorführungen genutzt, sondern auch für Festivals, Konzerte und andere kulturelle Veranstaltungen.
