Today it is difficult to meet a connoisseur of Ukrainian heavy music who was not familiar with the work of Motanka. However, if you try to limit the band to a text that does not require additional performance, the participants themselves position themselves as folk and / or mystic metal. Add to this ancient fairy tales and natural rituals, the acoustic sound of cymbals everywhere heavy guitar riffs and we can transfer their magical rituals everywhere in the text lines.
The first team to accompany the mini-tour and be in charge of the warm-up was Scarleth, who released a mix of power / gothic metal, with piercing vocals and dynamic guitar parts. Despite the fact that the event has just begun, it was difficult to say that the club lacks an audience as for the beginning of the concert and the starting groups came in profile. There is a place for rhythmic action movies and melodic vocal parts, and the keyboard accompaniment makes the atmosphere incorruptibly gothic.
The second band I Miss My Death brought to Kharkiv mystical Kyiv legends, packed in gothic / doom metal sound in the album Misto. There was more and more red light on the stage, and periodic interruptions of the academic soprano, male growling, permeated their adaptation of the Victorian era in the Ukrainian Settin.
Since the previous performances have already established a certain degree of mystical atmosphere and the audience was ready for the ritual macabre, the band was greeted with a collective singing track from the upcoming album "On Fire". As always, the performance took place in full entourage, with branded elements of props on stage in the form of dolls, of course barefoot and accompanied by ritual incense. The band's performance was filled with, so far, the only album of the same name, which is mostly about our historical and cultural heritage, combined with heavy riffs and ethnic instruments. In the meantime, you need to find a place for the periodic transition from melodic vocals to sudden streaming. Observing how selflessly the performers are taught, it can be firmly stated that what the band performs does not contain any false letters, they all experience it personally and relay it through their work. Motanka's music makes you pay attention to your roots and origins, where you have a clear awareness of your commitment to the culture of the ancient Slavs. Their songs evoke the energy of the sun and air, unity with the gray wisdom of the Carpathians and an inseparable love for your land.
