Snapshots of one hike on ,,Dealul Bătrân,,( Old Hill) in western Romania
Wine is poetry bottled. Robert Louis Stevenson
In the hustle and bustle that we get caught up in every day, sometimes we run away, sometimes we overlook the amazing places that are right under our noses.
I realized this the other day when I was sitting at my desk and looking out the window, the view was not one of the most beautiful, namely a lot of cars, bustle, noise, people running in all directions.
After a while, these moods make you tired of hearing or seeing them, so I picked up the phone and called my wife and told her we were going for a hike on the Old Hill in our area after work.
I passed by these areas so many times and didn't even get close to them, giving importance to other things that maybe weren't so important.
What is the Old Hill?
Old Hill is a hilly area in the Crisana area mostly cultivated with vines, our area is recognized worldwide for the production of wines, local varieties but also varieties from which were produced wines that later won gold medals at international competitions, so our area can compete with other famous areas in wine production in Europe.
The commune where I live appears in the history of the area since 1334, indeed, I live in a commune with an age of over 688 years, since those times parts of these hills were cultivated by local people, today the commune is part of the Podgoria Aradului, an area with hills cultivated with vines (there are some investors in the area who helped to grow the identity of this area).
See the spider web in the picture?
The area began to be better known about 15-20 years ago, when besides the cultivation of vines and the processing of grapes (turning them into magic liqueurs), agro-pensions and agro-tourism appeared in the area, today many tourists come to the agro-touristic pensions here every year and have an amazing experience.
The owner of the winery and agritourism is an engineer who knows all the wine-making technology extremely well and this is what he shows those who visit his guesthouse, with his help you let yourself go.
When I have time I'll take you on a tour of the winery and guesthouse.
Yes, I couldn't help but tell you more about the area where I live, but now back to the topic of today's post, namely Old Hill.
The pictures are taken by me with my mobile phone and my drone.
The hike up the hill took us a couple of hours, but it was a pleasure to see such amazing sights, now I have to admit that I got a little scared seeing that huge snake (in our area we usually don't have snakes of that size) and we made the decision to visit the old hill a little later, here I am referring to the fact that the grapes were already picked and we didn't get to eat the grapes (the remaining ones were either rotten or unripe).
If I started to show you this amazing hill, next days I hope to hike a few hours in a forest also here in my area, about this forest I already put some pictures during summer when everything was green, and now I would like to put some autumn pictures, nature is so surprising and spectacular, I hope I can capture some autumn snapshots from the forest.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
