The local people always knew about the existence of the valley and believed that it was inhabited by fairies and God. It was earlier also believed that once one goes to the valley, it is captured by the fairies and never back. did not return
Badrinath is situated at a distance of 25 kms from the Valley of Flowers. Badrinath is an ancient holy city in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. It is situated at an altitude of 3133 meters in the Garhwal Himalaya mountain range on the banks of the Alaknanda River near the Indo-Tibetan border.
