Who doesn’t love a summer storm!
I was on my way home from a day trip along the Great Ocean Road a few weeks back. The main reason I went was to hopefully catch a waterfall in the big rains that were predicted. I had no luck that afternoon, but on the long drive home, I was greeted with a huge shelf cloud following me home. It was one of those lucky time and place events! I was so lucky to be cruising past the You Yang mountain range as this storm approached. Never actually visiting the the area myself, I darted off the highway, frantically looking for a view point of f the ranges and the incoming storm. Not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign led me getting pulled over by the police haha. I think they understood my rush and let me go. After that shenanigan I was super lucky to find a paddock over looking the rangers with some old structures and a bunch of hungry sheep!
I stood out there in the wild conditions for 30 mins shooting before it was a total rain out.
Super stoked with this outcome, I haven’t had many chances to shoot storms like this. Enjoy!
