I am so lucky to live so close to such a place! I’ve been to this little area of the coast to many times to count now, and each time I get something completely different.
This particular evening I wasn’t even planning on shooting a storm as it was looking like it’d be great for sunset. After the sun went down there were a few storms in the distance putting on good light show so I decided to stick around. All of a sudden this storm cell brewed up and started heading inland, producing some epic lightning and an epic shelf cloud which I’ll post at a later date.
This has to be one of the most memorable and scary nights I’ve shot in to date! But the wild lighting I was able capture on the rocks here was like nothing else.
After firing a few shots and some bolts getting super close I had to run over 3km back to my car over cliffs and through the sand, not the easiest task with 10kg of camera gear on your back.
Enjoy!
