Today I want to talk about light.
Photography does not exist without light. It shapes the mood, tone and feeling of a photograph. The direction, quality and intensity of light play a significant role in the final image.
Understanding the influence of light on photography is essential for us photographers to create captivating and impactful images. Whether through the use of natural or artificial light, mastering the use of light can take a photograph from good to great.
For example, soft, diffused light can create a calm, relaxing atmosphere, while strong light can add contrast and drama. Shadows, highlights and reflections are also crucial elements that light can influence in a photograph.
The way light falls on a subject can completely change the way it is perceived. For example, sidelighting can create interesting texture and depth, while backlighting can create a glow effect.
In addition, the type of light source used can also impact the final image. Natural light, such as sunlight or moonlight, is often used by photographers to create a natural look, warm or cool depending on the time of day (golden hour and blue hour). Artificial light, such as studio lights or flash, can be used to control and manipulate the light in a scene.
Personally, I am very fond of natural light and I rarely use flash or any other type of artificial source.

Entender a influência da luz na fotografia é essencial para que nós fotógrafos criemos imagens cativantes e impactantes. Seja através do uso de luz natural ou artificial, dominar o uso da luz pode levar uma fotografia de boa a excelente.
Por exemplo, a luz suave e difusa pode criar uma atmosfera calma e relaxante, enquanto a luz forte pode adicionar contraste e drama. Sombras, destaques e reflexos também são elementos cruciais que a luz pode influenciar em uma fotografia.
A maneira como a luz incide sobre um assunto pode mudar completamente a maneira como ele é percebido. Por exemplo, a luz lateral pode criar textura e profundidade interessantes, enquanto a luz de fundo pode criar um efeito de brilho..
Além disso, o tipo de fonte de luz utilizada também pode impactar na imagem final. Pessoalmente, gosto muito da luz natural e raramente uso flash ou outro tipo de fonte artificial.
