Hello everybody! Hope you are all well! Having lived my whole life on the beach, surfing could not fail to be present in my photographs. I'm not a surfer myself, but over the years I've met a lot of people involved in the sport and also, for a few years, I worked reporting the sea conditions for surfing on the south beaches of the island, near my residence.
I have always found the combination of wave and body movements to be a very interesting subject to photograph, so whenever possible, I spend a lot of time on the beach, waiting for the right moment when the light, waves and athletes provide a good image.
I take the photos from the sand, Nikon D7000 camera in hand, Nikkor 70-300mm telephoto and usually with f 5.6-8. Depending on the light, I increase the ISO to be able to shoot at high speeds and thus freeze the movement, although sometimes I use low speeds to play around and try something different.
The images I bring today were taken at Matadeiro beach, one of the favorite spots for surfers.

Olá a todos! Espero que estejam todos bem! Tendo vivido a vida toda na praia, o surf não podia deixar de estar presente nas minhas fotografias. Eu mesmo não sou surfista, mas ao longo dos anos conheci muita gente envolvida no esporte e também, durante alguns anos, trabalhei fazendo o reporte das condições do mar para o surf nas praias do sul da ilha, perto da minha residência.
Sempre achei a combinação dos movimentos das ondas e dos corpos um sujeito muito interessante para ser fotografado, por isso, toda vez que é possível, passo um bom tempo na praia, esperando o momento certo em que a luz, as ondas e os atletas me proporcionam uma boa imagem.
Faço as fotos desde a areia, câmera Nikon D7000 na mão, telefoto Nikkor 70-300mm e geralmente com f 5,6-8. Dependendo da luz, aumento a ISO para poder disparar com altas velocidades e assim congelar o movimento, ainda que algumas vezes uso baixas velocidades para brincar e experimentar algo diferente.
As imagens que trago hoje, foram feitas na praia de Matadeiro, um dos picos preferidos pelos surfistas.
