Approximately 1.5 km from my house there is an air club. Aeroclube de Santa Catarina is a Brazilian aerodrome serving the municipality of São José, in the state of Santa Catarina. Its 1203 x 18 meter asphalt track is located in the Sertão do Imaruim neighborhood.
I have made several visits and researched about it.
Founded on September 21, 1937, in the city of Florianópolis, in 1977 it was transferred to the place where it is currently located.
In it we can find the Civil Aviation School and an air taxi line.
It is also possible to hire flights over the island of Santa Catarina and the coast of the state (something I'm still going to do).
The flights are daytime and visual, as the aeroclub does not have instrument flight equipment.
To the west of the track, we can see the Pedra Branca hill, an iconic point in the region. With about 500 meters of altitude, Morro da Pedra Branca is a point of reference and limits between the two municipalities of Greater Florianópolis(São José e Palhoça).
To the south, we can appreciate the Cambirela hill. Its altitude is 1052 meters, which makes it the culmination of the municipality and the region.
Surrounded by legends, it is estimated that it was a volcano 590 million years ago. Cambirela is very popular with hikers who want to climb to the top in search of adventure and the unique view from the top of the mountain.(another trail I have yet to do).

Espero que estejam todos bem.
Aproximadamente a 1,5 km da minha casa existe um aeroclube. O Aeroclube de Santa Catarina é um aeródromo brasileiro que serve ao município de São José, no estado de Santa Catarina. Sua pista de 1203 x 18 metros em asfalto, está localizada no Bairro Sertão do Imaruim.
Tenho feito várias visitas e pesquisado a respeito.
Fundado em 21 setembro de 1937, na cidade de Florianópolis, em 1977 foi transferido ao local onde se encontra atualmente.
Nele podemos encontrar a Escola de Aviação Civil e uma linha de táxi aéreo.
Também é possível contratar voos sobre a ilha de Santa Catarina e o litoral do estado (algo que ainda vou fazer).
Os voos são diretos e visuais, já que o aeroclube não conta com equipamento para voo por instrumentos.
Ao oeste da pista podemos ver o morro da Pedra Branca, ponto icônico da região. Com cerca de 500 metros de altitude, o Morro da Pedra Branca é ponto de referência e de limites entre os dois municípios da Grande Florianópolis(São José e Palhoça).
Ao sul, apreciamos o morro da Cambirela. Sua altitude é de 1052 metros, o que o torna o ponto culminante do município e da região.
Cercado de lendas, estima-se que tenha sido um vulcão a 590 milhões de anos atrás. O Cambirela é bastante procurado por praticantes de trilhas que desejam subir ao topo em busca da aventura e da vista única do cume da montanha.(outra trilha que me falta fazer).
