Hello there!
While on the roadtrip on my last holidays, driving from river Krupa source and continued to the unknown, packed with my tent, two blankets, sleeping bag and swimming shorts I started running out of sun light and started looking where I could sleep for the night.
When I suddenly discovered a castle by beautiful slow flowing river Kolpa, that is known to be slow flowing and one of our warmest rivers in the country. It was getting dark, thats why I knew the place to find a spot to sleep was really close.
Looked like people lived in it, so I parked the car, looked around for a place, followed the road past the houses and found out the road goes even closer to the river.. so I went in the car and slowly drove close to the river, not knowing where I was going I found myself at the river and an old mill with a ton of "no parking" signs.
I soon started feeling the perfect vibe, drove past the old mill, discovered a big flat grass field, an old barn and an empty tent. Thats when I knew I found a perfect spot for the night, without any worry.
Later I found out it's a real camp, I really like it, because it didn't look like one. In the morning I made myself breakfast, some coffee, scouted around, talked with locals and went for a swim, spent most of the day around the water.
Next day I woke up really early, was probably the coldest night I slept outside and realized why would the camp be empty, it was in mid September and was sleeping less than 15 meters away from the river. After lunch I went canoeing for the first time.
I love being in, on and around the water, but canoe made a whole new unique experience. I wasn't brave enough to take my phone with me. :)
The Next day was time to start packing, going for another morning/ workout refreshing swim to other side and back, breakfast, packing tent and around 12 o clock continuing my journey to our capital city Ljubljana where I had few appointments. Of course I had to make a quick stop in a tiny but magnificent castle in Žužemberk.
After I continued the road and went back home to rest on cozy home bed and warm up for a day and plan my new route before I continue with my explorations.
Thank you for stopping by, for me it was really a time to switch off my head, no laptop, no tv, minimum use of phone and being in the moment, discovering places that will definitely stay in my good memories and added to my "cookie jar" as David Goggins explains.

Til next time, stay awesome... Happy, Strong & Healthy my friends !
