“I love that moment in a hike when you snap to and suddenly realise for the last 10 minutes you’ve not been observing nature but have instead become a part of it.”– We Dream of Travel
Last two weeks have been special, not only we had warmer days, most of them sunny, but I also took time for myself whenever I could. Last monday I went on a skiing resort snowboarding for 3 hours at night, after work. It was a blast, finally learned how to use the line that pulled me straight to the top. (always fell there no matter how I tryed, over 5 years ago)
Was a long, now way over 8 year old promise to myself that I held, back when we talked with my father about going skiing together on top of Celesta cottage, a local small skiing resort, where he used to ski almost every week after he was done driving the bus for the day. I learned how to get pulled to the top with only 2 falls and then I got the hang of it.
I was snowboarding for 3 hours straight, without any stop. It was the most fun I ever had on my snowboard, first two hours kids were training, went slowly downhill, learning with them, listening and getting a hang on the hard prepared surface. Last few years I only went snowboarding where ever I found snow, that is mostly soft and powdery snow. Last hour I was almost alone up there, where I could go a lot faster, got the hang of my snowboard, used different techniques and it really felt like I wasn't shredding alone. It really felt amazing, warm feeling and that I've completed one promise, will definitely return up there soon.
Yesterday I decided to complete another primes, we made together with my father, probably over 10 years ago when we moved to another apartment. The promise was to get together and go hiking over the hills of Bohor that includes many, over 19 hill tops and stretches over the whole Kozjansko region, located in Slovenia.
Started my journey at 10am parking my car in center of a tiny village Kozje and starting my way up. First I had to find the path, followed the instructions on my phone(Hribi.net) and found a path to castle Kozje, well what's left of it.
Turned around and back to the road, where I found hunters waiting to spot wild boars on top of a seperate hill. Continued my path on the road for over hour and a half, thought I got lost several times but with help of hiking tips on the internet I finnaly got to the start of hills Bohor.
After over 2 hours of fast phase walking with amazing views all around I finally got to one of the tops, when I decided to finally leave the main road and go for the top. Felt amazing reaching one top, had few sipps of water, enjoyed the view and then continued my way to next hill.

On a long strech of the road it finally lead me in the woods on a trails. That started going higher till it got me to another hill top. Didn't know it's the top as it was hidden in the middle of the woods. Met the second hiker there, turned around and looked for another trail to get me closer to the top of Bohor (so I thought).
After 2hours and a half getting back down I spotted another hiking trail markation that lead me threw historic trail that lead me to cottage on Bohorje where I passed and hit the third hill top called Plesivec.
When I got there, I went to the cottage on a nice cup of tea, refill my bottle and after 3 hours and a half, started going back down. The highest peak is still 1 hour away from cottage called Veliki Javornik (Bohor) (1023m) that will be on my list to achieve, another day. On the way back it went a lot faster and smoother, without any pressure, sielence and beautiful views far away.
We had a really beautiful day with very good visibility, warm sun and almost no winds. On the way back it felt amazing, remembering sweet old memories with my dad, making plans for next week and realizing what a stunning day it is to be able to go on such a hiking trail, specially for the first time!
