Yesterday included a long and grueling bike ride around New Castle and Wilmington, DE.
Truth be told, it wasn't that grueling, but it was long (I meandered and stopped frequently to take pictures) and it was hot. I suppose there was a heat advisory for a reason.
In addition to my dSLR, I also brought along one of my crappy cameras; my generic 1.3 megapixel camera (I really need to give this camera a good name).
The one thing this camera needs is a lot of really good light. Lots and lots of light. If you think you have enough light, it'll need more. Luckily for me, yesterday, light was not a problem.
I enjoy this camera greatly. The viewfinder is about useless, so I need to "eyeball" every shot I take, and I'm getting better at it.
One of the "features" I like about this camera is the old analogue film look that it provides, and it does so without the film. All it takes is a little bit of post processing to get a really emotionally filled picture.
For much of it's history, Wilmington was very much the epitome of an industrial city: an active port, ship building, and even railroad and railroad engine building. I think this next images really brings that old feeling to the fore.
